Six Charities of their Choice Received $5,000
OAKLAND, Calif. (December 27, 2010) – Cost Plus World Market (www.worldmarket.com) celebrated this season of giving by launching its “Share the Joy” campaign, a Facebook-only promotion intended to spread some holiday cheer to its fans. As part of the original three-week campaign, World Market customers were invited to join the online community and enter for a chance to win a $5,000 World Market gift card and a $5,000 donation to a non-profit charity of their choice. Due to overwhelming response, World Market doubled the campaign from three winners to six winners.
World Market is now pleased to announce the “Share the Joy” winners and their charities of choice:
Patricia Mortimer of Canton, Georgia donated to the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta; Cherie Jones of Elgin, Illinois donated to the Northern Illinois Food Bank; Emily Diederich of Mattawan, Michigan donated to Calvary Reformed Church; Mary Dossinger of Winston-Salem, North Carolina donated to the River Run International Film Festival; Kimberly Luongo of Parish, Florida split her donation between the Society of the Little Flower and The Franciscans; and Diane Bassette of Agawam, Massachusetts donated to the Shriners Hospital in Springfield, Massachusetts.
With more than 260 stores, World Market takes pride in providing a positive shopping experience for its customers – both in-store and online – and giving back to the communities in which it does business. The company is thrilled to be able to support six deserving non-profit agencies during a particularly challenging time of year.
