National Retailer to Sponsor Giraffe Exhibit at Northern California’s Best Theme Park
Oakland, CA — March 22, 2007 — Cost Plus World Market (NASDAQ: CPWM), a leading retailer of casual home living and entertaining products, announced today that the company is sponsoring Nairobi’s Giraffe Encounter exhibit at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom in Vallejo, California. Cost Plus World Market will become an integral part of the guest’s experience, allowing them to get up close and personal with spectacular and exotic animals.

Cost Plus World Market will begin sponsorship of Nairobi’s Giraffe Encounter beginning on the park’s opening day, March 24. Later in 2007 as part of the promotion, Cost Plus World Market will run an in-store contest open to Bay Area customers and named “Official Passport to Six Flags Discovery Kingdom”. In this contest, six lucky VIP customers and three of their guests will get to experience a behind-the-scenes tour at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom where they will be able to feed Shouka, the park’s orca, hang out in the dolphin pool, help give an elephant a bath and many more exciting, exclusive activities.
